IL RICHIAMO DEL VUOTO – Federica è una pescatrice di Mazara del Vallo, Fatiha è una donna tunisina che vive da anni nello stesso territorio. Un incontro fortuito permette a queste due vite di incrociarsi. Il legame profondo che le unisce le farà incontrare nel luogo in cui il sale conserva i ricordi.

The Emptiness’ Call – Federica is a fisherwoman from Mazara del Vallo, Fatiha is a Tunisian woman who has lived in the same aerea for years. A chance encounter allows these two lives to meet each other. The deep bond that connects them will bring them together in the place where salt stores memories.

L’autrice

Nora Trebastoni nasce a Catania nel 1995. Ha conseguito una laurea magistrale in regia cinematografica all’Università IULM di Milano. Durante i suoi studi ha iniziato a lavorare come filmmaker e montatrice. “Il richiamo del vuoto” è la sua opera prima, frutto di una particolare attenzione nei confronti del cinema femminile mediorientale. Quest’ultimo le ha permesso di definire una sua precisa estetica, che definisce della “camera-hijab”, uno sguardo velato capace di raccontare la realtà.

Nora Trebastoni was born in Catania, Italy, in 1995. She holds a master’s degree in film directing from IULM University in Milan. During her studies she started working as a filmmaker and editor. “The Emptiness’ Call” is her debut feature, the result of a special focus on Middle Eastern women’s cinema. This focus allowed her to define her own precise aesthetic, which she defines as of the “camera-hijab,” a veiled gaze capable of narrating reality.
