Sono stati annunciati i cortometraggi che parteciperanno al concorso del SOUQ Film Festival 2024.

Si tratta di 28 film, tra documentari, fiction e film di animazione, provenienti da 18 Paesi.

Se tra le tematiche affrontate dai registi si confermano quelle che caratterizzano da sempre il festival – immigrazione e accoglienza, razzismo, difesa dei diritti umani, condizione delle donne e delle persone detenute, promozione della salute mentale – in questa edizione irrompe con forza il racconto della contemporaneità: la guerra, da quella in Ucraina a quella a Gaza, e le sue conseguenze sulle persone, il disagio giovanile che si è acuito dopo la pandemia, l’emergenza abitativa nelle grandi città, la crisi climatica e ambientale.

The short films that will participate in the SOUQ Film Festival 2024 competition have been announced.

These are 28 films, including documentaries, fiction and animated films, from 18 countries.

Among the issues addressed by the directors, those that have always characterized the festival are confirmed – immigration and reception, racism, defense of human rights, condition of women and detained people, promotion of mental health. Furthermore, in this edition the story of contemporaneity forcefully bursts in: the war, from the one in Ukraine to the one in Gaza, and its consequences on people, the youth hardship which has worsened after the pandemic, the housing emergency in large cities, the climate and environmental crisis.
