Trace Of Earth di Gülben e Mert Eşberk, Turchia, 15’

Sevinç fights against the prison’s ban on growing flowers. During solitary confinement, she has an idea and, with the help of her cellmates, makes it real. On a rainy night, as the first drops fall, she embraces the promise of hope and a new beginning.

Sevinç lotta contro il divieto di coltivare fiori in prigione. Durante l’isolamento, un’idea prende forma e, con l’aiuto delle compagne di cella, riesce a realizzarla. In una notte di pioggia, mentre cadono le prime gocce, abbraccia la promessa di speranza e di un nuovo inizio.

Gülben Eşberk and Mert Eşberk both graduated from Çukurova University’s Radio, Television, and Cinema Department. Gülben has directed short fiction and documentary films and worked as an assistant director in commercials and features, while Mert is known for his socially engaged films and award-winning shorts. Together they co-directed Trace of Earth, now traveling the festival circuit.

Gülben e Mert Eşberk si sono laureati al Dipartimento di Radio, Televisione e Cinema dell’Università di Çukurova. Gülben ha diretto cortometraggi di fiction e documentari e ha lavorato come aiuto regista in pubblicità e film, mentre Mert è conosciuto per i suoi film socialmente impegnati e cortometraggi premiati. Insieme hanno co-diretto Trace of Earth, attualmente in circuito festivaliero.
