Omayma lives with her authoritarian husband Faouzi, but it’s not the life she dreamt of before emigrating to Sicily. Comforted by happier memories of her life in Tunisia and with the support of her young daughter, Omayma seeks the strength to survive and the courage to defend her freedom.

Fabio Schifilliti, fin da giovane, è stato affascinato dalla potenza emotiva delle sale cinematografiche. Studiando e affinando un “altruismo emotivo”, ha iniziato come assistente alla regia, costruendo una carriera parallela come regista. Laureato in Beni Culturali con specializzazione in Cinema, Teatro e Musica, ha realizzato cortometraggi, documentari e spot pubblicitari. Docente presso l’Università di Messina, ha vinto il Cubovision Telecom Italia e RaiCinema Film Award nel 2014, rappresentando l’Italia a Los Angeles. Ha ricevuto riconoscimenti in festival internazionali in Stati Uniti, Cina, Nigeria, Giordania, Kenya, Svezia, Bulgaria, Svizzera e Canada, perseguendo un cinema che fonde uno stile narrativo europeo con una potente espressività americana.

Since childhood, Fabio Schifilliti has been fascinated by the darkness of the movie theater and the emotional reactions of the audience to the grandeur of images projected on the big screen. Studying cinema through books and diverse films, he developed what he terms “emotional altruism.” He began his career as an assistant director for various films and advertisements while concurrently shaping his path as a director. Graduating in Cultural Heritage with a focus on Cinema, Theater, and Music, he created short films, documentaries, TV content, and commercials. Schifilliti also teaches cinema courses at the University of Messina. His belief in the expressive power of images led him to win prestigious awards at international film festivals, and he aspires to create a cinematic style that combines European narrative with a distinctly American expressive force
